Let it be known: Jesse Lacey still mows his own lawn. His band, Brand New, has toured the world and sold over a million albums, but the 31-year-old doesn’t have any qualms about yard maintenance.
Well, except for one thing: “Noon in the middle of July isn’t the best time to mow your lawn, I’ve realized,” he admits over the phone from his Long Island, NY home. “You have to get up earlier.”
Lacey’s days of afternoon chores will end soon, though. Brand New’s fourth album, Daisy, drops Sept. 22, and the quartet will kick off a 38-date North American tour one week later, a jaunt that will wrap with a Thanksgiving weekend homecoming/headline show at Nassau Coliseum, the 18,000-seat arena that hosted some of the first concerts they ever attended (Lacey’s dad took him to see Springsteen when he was 11). But it’s not quite a pinch-yourself moment, at least for the band. “I think [headlining the Coliseum] is a bigger deal for a lot of our friends and our family at this point and that’s what gets us excited about it,” he says.

We had the opportunity to interview newly formed melodic hardcore band Bayonet, which consists of members from The Banner and Senses Fail. Go support these guys because they are something special.
State your name and what you do in the band?
My name is Jeremy Comitas, and I play guitar, sing some of the clean vocals, and write for Bayonet here in Northern New Jersey.
Bayonet consists of members from a couple different bands, is Bayonet a part time gig or a full time entity?
The plan for Bayonet is to be a full-time gig. Paul and myself haven’t done much with The Banner in recent months, and Buddy is extremely dedicated and hard working. Before he left for Warped Tour with Senses Fail, he was practicing about 4 hours a day with them, and then coming to my place to work on our material for 2 to 3 more hours in addition. We realized that even with his Senses Fail touring schedule, we would still be able to tour more than most other full-time bands. So yeah, I would say full-time for sure. We just have an interesting writing agenda, and it all fits into each individuals convenience.

Its very rare that I fall in love with an album and band within one listen of their album, but thats exactly what happened with Closure In Moscow. This band means business, they write some of the most meaningful lyrics in the scene today and they also made the decision to move across the Atlantic pond from Australia over to Portland, Oregon all for the music and their fans. We chose Closure In Moscow as Artist Of The Week for the simple fact that they are on my very short list of bands that will “Break” within the next year, and when they do everyone should watch out. Check out are interview with the band below, and also go and browse around their myspace right here
State your name and what you do in the band?
Mansur Zennelli, I play guitar and sing in the super fun happy time band Closure in Moscow
I’ve heard that you guys recently moved from Australia to Portland?
This is true, we now reside in Portland, Oregon. It’s a really chill place that’s perfect to come back to off of a tour. It has alot of similarities to back home.

I stumbled across this interview with Travis McCoy from Gym Class Heroes regarding his recent trip to South Africa, India, and the Philippines. Read it Below:
Travis McCoy may be the face of the hugely successful Gym Class Heroes, but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t have the time to be the frontman of another big group: McCoy has been named the 2009 Special Ambassador for MTV’s Staying Alive Foundation, an organization that promotes youth-based HIV and AIDS prevention campaigns. As part of his duties, McCoy traveled to Cape Town, Manila, and Mumbai, visiting and raising awareness for grassroots HIV and AIDS prevention projects.
The week-long journey will provide inspiration for a single McCoy plans to release on December 1, World AIDS Day. Proceeds from the download will go to the Staying Alive Foundation. McCoy recently spoke to us on the phone about what he saw, what he felt, and how the experience has changed him.
How did you get involved with the Staying Alive foundation?

It is my pleasure to announce this week’s “Artist Of The Week” John Nolan, Nolan is a musician who should not only be our “Artist Of The Week” but also our “Next Big Thing”. We first heard from John as a prominent member of the band Taking Back Sunday before moving on to front Straylight Run. Straylight has been a huge influence on many of today’s bands and also a critical success. Just when you thought that is where it would end he has decided to bless music fans with his Debut Solo Album “Height”.
We had the opportunity to speak with John regarding the new album and you can find that interview below and also make sure to check him out on myspace right here along with all his future tour dates
If all the websites are correct your debut solo album comes out on October 27th and its called HEIGHT, is it and EP or actual full length?
